They'll even give you a specific time frame for completion. Debt settlement can take care of things either immediately or over a period of time from one to three years. (Bear in mind, this is not your best option. It will effect your credit.) A debt consolidation loan or a basic debt consolidation program usually takes about five years, but if you're a homeowner, your best option is a debt consolidation mortgage. This rolls your debt into your mortgage and stretches it out over the life of you mortgage. Student loan debt consolidation is a good option if it's student loan debt that's eating you alive.
