Find your way back from the scary place where credit card debts have accumulated.
Debt Management Solutions for All Debt Situations
The first step you can take towards finding an effective debt management solution is to do an Internet search on the word debt. You'll get pages and pages of results, and you'll see solutions you've never heard of and probably never knew existed. Here are just a couple of examples of what you're likely to find:
- Debt consolidation - This is the most common type of debt relief. Through this type of plan, a professional from a debt management company will contact your creditors to get you lower interest rates and payments, and they might even be able to get past fees removed (if you had any). You then make one monthly payment to the debt consolidation company instead of several monthly payments to your creditors. Because of the lower interest rate, you can be debt free in about five years.
- Debt settlement - Under this type of plan, a debt management professional contacts your creditors to get them to agree to letting you pay off your debt at a fraction of the amount you owe (usually 30-50 cents on the dollar). The catch is that you have to have the new, lower amount paid off in full in a year.
There are also other ways to get out of debt, like debt consolidation or debt consolidation loans. If you have a lot of student loan debt, student loan debt consolidation can help. If you're a homeowner, you may want to consider a debt consolidation mortgage. There are a number of debt elimination out there for the taking. Find the one that's right for you.
